MEMORIAL DAY FLOWERS
The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, began handing out 10,000 flowers to visitors at Arlington National Cemetery in 2011. In 2024, over 150,000 flowers were placed at ANC, with an additional 100,000 flowers sent to various cemeteries throughout the country.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Each Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery we honor those who risked or sacrificed their lives while protecting and fighting for our country.

Saturday volunteers prepare the flowers in the Service Area, and may place flowers at nearby sections.

On Sunday, May 26, you are invited to participate in the Flowers of Remembrance Day event, the only time of the year where visitors can walk across the Memorial Plaza and place a flower before the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

2024 EVENTS AT ARLINGTON NATIONAL CEMETERY

The Memorial Day Flowers Foundation works alongside Victory for Veterans, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, to honor and remember those who served in the United States Armed Forces. Victory for Veterans organizes events at 10 cemeteries across the country called “A Flower on Every Grave”, to raise funds and awareness for veteran suicide prevention.
