Honor the Heroes

of Extortion 17

The Extortion 17 memorial at Arlington National Cemetery’s Section 60 commemorates all 38 lives lost.

Of those, 31 were American service members.  Alongside the memorial, rest 13 members of Extortion 17, including Brian Bill.

They will always be remembered

On August 6, 2011, Extortion 17, a quick reaction force to assist a unit of Army Rangers engaged west of Kabul, Afghanistan, was launched and intercepted by enemy fire.  The resulting crash killed all 38 people on board, making it the worst loss of U.S. military life in a single incident in the Afghanistan campaign.

The Brian Bill Foundation was established to assist special operations veterans, and families, who are afflicted with combat post-traumatic stress and other challenges related to their service.
